A nymph version of the most popular Southern Appalachian Trout fly of all time. Originally believed to have been created by the Cherokee Indians. The Yallar Hammer was originally tied with the feather from a Yellow Shafted Flicker (Woodpecker). With flickers on the endangered species list we worked for years to find an alternative feather to produce our flies and have close of an imitation as possible. This fly produces really well mid spring through late fall.
